Bevel eyewear is a company that prides itself regarding the quality of its product, from design, to material manufacturing. Bevel eyewear is a design expression that is clean, minimalist, and modern. The Bevel philosophy is to produce a quality
design product that enhances one’s look. This statement was used as the foundation for the logo design.

While there is much implied meaning to the logo and how it relates to the physicality of eyewear, it also conveys through its simplicity of design Bevel’s core philosophy. The logo is an expression that is clean, minimalist, and modern. The logo for Bevel takes a slightly altered lowercase “b” from the name, and places it inside and connects it to a near complete circle. That circle is then mirrored by the larger circle. Two circles, a smaller within a larger, is a visual metaphor for a person’s eye seen through the lens of
eyewear. Rather than keep the logo as two related circles, each element has been altered by opening the top. Instead of having two stagnant circles, this changes the dynamic of the logo and infuses it with movement. A person’s eye now begins at the cap height where the “b” connects with the outer circle, and moves along with the circle to meet up with the name of the company. The logo mark, in a subtle manner, also implies the design of eyewear. The frames for all eyewear are based upon lines and circles, even if those circles have been distorted to create unique variations. For example, the stem and open curve of the “b” imply the side of a frame that will end by resting behind one’s ear, or one of the lenses of the frames. The simplicity of the design makes the logo easily scalable for whatever purpose might be needed, including placement on the sides of frames.

The design work for all elements of the identity are based upon the Bevel philosophy to produce a quality design product that is clean, minimalist, and modern. The choice of colors used throughout applications are black, white, and red. These are considered “classic,” and are associated with high-end brands. Throughout the letter set, and some applications, can be found a graphic element that is black and red and is of two curving shapes that intertwine. A unifying graphic element, it offers movement to the viewer’s eye, references the Bevel philosophy of clean, minimalist, and modern, and makes an allusion to the physicality of the design of eye wear.
